WordPress Tutorial: How to login to your WordPress Admin (Easy)

This is the first in our WordPress tutorials, with different levels of how complicated they are from Easy to Very Hard. On the title of each it will tell you in brackets what the level of complexity is. The very first tutorial is the most basic of them all.

How do I login to my WordPress Admin Panel?

Your WordPress Admin is where you will access everything for your WordPress website that you can edit and add pages to yourself. You can even add plug-ins allowing extra features. If you are a web designer and have set everything up yourself, you will have full admin access to all areas of your website. If it has been done on your behalf by a web design company, the chances are you will not have access to all of the features, just those that are relevant to your business needs.

The reason you may not have full access is so you do not mess anything up and cost yourself a fortune in having to have a website designer re-do everything, best leave those things to a web designer sometimes!

Simple steps to follow to login to your WordPress Admin

In your browser window you will need to add /wp-admin to your website URL (website www address) eg www.mydomain.co.uk/wp-admin

You should then see 2 boxes, one asking for your username, the other your password. Enter your username and password (You will have either had these sent to you by your web designer – if you use us for your website you can email us or call us on 01274 792006. Or you will have already made up your own username and password for admin access). Simply enter your username and password then press enter or the button that says login.

You will then be taken to the Admin “dashboard” with all the options about things you can do on your website listed on the left hand side of your website.
